Core strength/core stability is the ability of the abdominals, back muscles and pelvic floor to support the spine and keep the body stable, safe and balanced. This is a fundamental in any physical activity and is key to preventing injury and performing at full potential in sports.
We have to be intentional to gain awareness of and develop the powerhouse muscles. It requires us to slow down, get quiet and concentrate. It’s difficult to feel and control deep muscles, but when you do, your perspective on movement changes. The hands and knees demo below is an exercise our clients do to help build a strong core base.
We add TYE4 to help understand and feel the body positioning. It also requires more muscles to fire from the start 🔥 I made Kelsey Feltman try it with and then with out TYE4, and this was her feedback:
► WEARING TYE4
gives feedback to help with form
resistance (much harder work for abs, triceps, quads, and hamstring)
arms and legs reach longer
feel muscles firing immediately
brings you back to home base automatically
► NO TYE4
easier but less controlled
harder time telling if hips are tucked
have to do more reps to feel muscles
easy to not be aligned

“I wish I could zap you with how good I feel after I go to Pilates! You would understand why I love it and encourage you to go!” Jean Hill
“Finally a workout I can look forward to. But is it really a workout?! I don’t even break a sweat! I had noticeable results in flexibility and posture after only a few classes.” Collette Ashley
“Pilates is a workout but it’s not exhausting. I usually feel relaxed and less stressed after class. It involves stretching, balancing and I have noticed my posture has been better, others have notice too. My shoulders aren’t scrunched up underneath my ears either, they’re more relaxed. Ashley is an awesome instructor that loves what she does & helping people. Each person in the class is different not only in age, shape and size but also in levels of flexibility and fitness. Exercises are well explained & shown. She can modify the exercise for everyone’s need, as a beginner or to make it more difficult, your choice. It’s for anyone.” Jennifer Fopiano
We love using the TYE4 apparatus to provide assistance to overstressed areas like neck and hip flexors. We also use it to add resistance through full range of motion to add intensity.
It was such an honor to participate in the Rutherford Heart Walk and represent St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital Wellness Center this year! I led the warm-up for the group and they were all so awesome, energetic and so happy to be there!!! We had beautiful weather and it was just a great day to be active for a great cause.
The Heart Walk is the American Heart Association’s premiere event for raising funds to save lives from this country’s No. 1 and No. 5 killers – heart disease and stroke. Designed to promote physical activity and heart-healthy living, the Heart Walk creates an environment that’s fun and rewarding for the entire family. ♥heartwalk.org

A few weeks ago we filmed the TYE4® FUSION class for the PhysicalMind Institute Certification Program. I earned my certification in NYC 2 years ago —» more on that here «— and now PMI is creating online training so many more people can add this class to their schedule! FUSION is a fun class that hits the whole body and provides a challenging, safe and effective workout.
Meet my friend and client Kay Walker. She is 72 years old and was diagnosed with Polio when she was 8 months old. I have the privilege of helping her discover that she CAN exercise! Four years ago she bravely attended my St. Augustine Fitness Retreat. We worked multiple times a day learning her limits, but more importantly discovering what she COULD DO. Since then we have spent the past few years personalizing her exercise to meet her lifestyle… which is unbelievably active!!
Don’t look at this as a workout but a part of your morning routine. It can look something like this… brush teeth… drink coffee//my go-to →Advocare Spark//or whatever makes you nice to people … TYE4 … shower … This is a PERFECT way to start your day… stretched, moving and the proper posture muscles activated. AND BONUS:: you DO get a workout!!! This tones the back, abs, arms AND legs! #WIN
